Cyclamen for sinusitis. Drops with cyclamen for sinusitis: reviews

Sinusitis is a disease that develops as a result of an inflammatory process in the paranasal sinuses.

This illness can be a consequence of a common cold in combination with a bacterial infection. Today, a huge number of drugs have been created that can cure sinusitis.

The basis of treatment for this disease is mainly antibiotics.

However, there are safer methods of getting rid of the disease. Among the means of alternative medicine, there are those that can improve the condition of a patient with sinusitis, while easing the course of the disease and accelerating the recovery process.

Sometimes some herbal preparations allow you to avoid such unpleasant methods of treating the disease as rinsing and punctures. Cyclamen has proven itself well. Drops based on this plant help against sinusitis. Usually they use a wild flower that grows in the Caucasus.

Of course, ordinary European cyclamen, which grows well on apartment windowsills in pots, is also used to combat the disease.

What it is?

Treatment of sinusitis with cyclamen has been practiced for a very long time. This is a representative of herbaceous perennial plants, whose homeland is considered to be Asia Minor and the Mediterranean. Cyclamen grows well in our climatic conditions.

The substances that make up its tubers have a beneficial effect on the hormonal environment. In addition, the components are able to resist inflammatory processes, have a calming effect, improve reflex secretion of mucous membranes, producing a kind of irritant effect.

As a result, the tissues self-clean and regenerate faster.

Cyclomen-based products are often used to treat various ailments. The flower relieves sinusitis perfectly, and also helps to cope with a common runny nose, is effective for adenoids, sinusitis, headaches, arthritis and nasal polyps. In this case, the process of growing a plant does not cause much difficulty. Ointments, decoctions, infusions and drops are prepared using crushed roots.

Cyclamen root will help cure sinusitis

Very often, alternative medicine prepared from cyclamen root is used to combat sinusitis and sinusitis. After all, it is this part of the plant that contains the most useful macroelements, saponins and cyclamen.

It is worth noting that such drugs can cure even the chronic form of sinusitis. Before preparing the product, the tubers need to be cleaned with a brush and washed well. After this, the juice should be squeezed out of the raw material.

To do this, you can use a grater or juicer.

How to use

Cyclamen juice must be diluted with water. In this case, it is necessary to observe the proportions: take 4 parts of water for one part of juice. You should put the product in the refrigerator overnight to let it infuse. Drops with cyclamen for sinusitis are best used in the morning or before going to bed.

After instillation, you should lie down for a while. This remedy works great in combination with a decoction of medicinal herbs and honey. You can make a drink from licorice root, echinacea, eucalyptus, string, St. John's wort, yarrow or mistletoe.

In this form, cyclamen helps get rid of purulent discharge in just a few days.

Are there any rules for using cyclomen? The flower for sinusitis should really be used in compliance with certain instructions.

A solution prepared from the sap of the plant should be instilled a few drops into each nostril. After this procedure, you need to lie down for 10 minutes and then drink a decoction of herbs.

The course of such therapy is 7 days. The positive effect is observed already on the third day.

Among the advantages of this method of treating sinusitis, it is worth noting the positive effect that occurs after a short time.

As for the disadvantages, it is necessary to highlight allergic reactions, which are very often accompanied by increased sweating, sneezing, coughing, pain and burning in the nose.

If at least one of the symptoms occurs, you should consult a specialist.

Ointments

Cyclamen for sinusitis is often used in the form of ointments. The juice of this plant is the basis for the preparation of such products. It should not be used in its pure form. Usually mixtures are made from the juice of cyclamen, Kalanchoe, onion, aloe, as well as Vishnevsky ointment.

All components are thoroughly mixed. The resulting substance must be applied to a gauze or cotton swab, which is then placed in the nostrils. The procedure must be carried out once a day. However, its duration should be from 30 to 40 minutes.

The course is three weeks.

Pharmacy products

Today, there are pharmaceutical preparations that contain cyclamen. Various sprays and drops help with sinusitis. The most famous drug is Sinuforte. The only drawback of this spray is its high cost, despite the fact that one bottle of medicine does not last long.

This drug perfectly clears the sinuses of accumulated fluid. This reduces swelling and liquefies the pus. Thanks to this, a speedy recovery occurs. The course of treatment is only 7 days. Up to three injections should be done daily. If you strictly adhere to this treatment regimen, then there is a chance to achieve stable remission and forget about the disease.

Contraindications

The plant has poisonous properties. That is why you should be careful when using products that contain cyclamen. Treatment of sinusitis with folk remedies should be carried out only after consultation with specialists. They should not be used to treat the disease by lactating and pregnant women, as well as young children.

Reviews

What do those who have already tried cyclamen-based products think? According to people’s reviews, both pharmaceutical drugs and those prepared at home help with sinusitis. After instilling the drops, a burning sensation is felt.

After this, active nasal discharge begins. At the same time, patients note that they get high-quality rinsing at home.

According to consumers, the sensation is a little unpleasant, but on the second day there is no more pus.

A remedy that contains cyclamen helps well against sinusitis. Judging by the reviews, after instillation, along with the burning sensation, swelling also intensifies, but not for long. After this, the nose begins to breathe. If you use products based on this plant from the very first day of the disease, you will not have to pierce it. The drops work great for sinusitis.

cyclamen drops

Cyclamen, nasal drops based on cyclamen

Intranasal use of drops with cyclamen juice helps to cope not only with acute diseases of the nasopharynx, but also with chronic ones. Such drugs are especially widely used to treat sinusitis.

Medicinal properties of cyclamen

The chemical composition of cyclamen has not yet been fully studied.

But saponins were found in tubers - surface-active compounds that can act on nerve endings in the nasal cavity and sinuses, causing an increase in mucus secretion.

Thanks to this mechanism, the secretions are liquefied and easily come out. Along with mucus, bacteria are eliminated, so infectious processes also become less pronounced.

The effectiveness of drops based on cyclamen has been clinically proven back in Soviet times. The juice from the tubers of this plant has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, sedative, wound-healing and hemostatic effects.

The range of its use is very wide, it stabilizes hormonal levels, normalizes the menstrual cycle, and restores potency.

It is used in the treatment of infertility, certain diseases of the cardiovascular and immune systems, diabetes, allergies, and rheumatism.

But it has also been established that cyclamen is poisonous: if used incorrectly, convulsions, diarrhea, vomiting, and headaches can occur. Therefore, folk and pharmacy remedies based on it have a number of contraindications and side effects.

Indications and contraindications

Cyclamen-based nasal drops are indicated for the treatment and prevention of inflammatory diseases of the nose, nasopharynx, throat and oral cavity.

They are successfully used for sinusitis (sinusitis, ethmoiditis, sphenoiditis, frontal sinusitis), rhinitis, adenoids, polyps, as well as after endoscopic operations on the paranasal sinuses.

Anti-inflammatory properties allow them to be used for colds and dental diseases.

Due to their sedative effect, cyclamen-based products can be used in the treatment of diseases of the nervous system accompanied by increased emotional excitability, sleep disorders, and neurasthenic manifestations.

This plant can have a beneficial effect on hormonal levels, therefore it is prescribed for dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, impotence, and infertility. Some immune and cardiovascular disorders and rheumatism may also be indicated.

Cyclamen tubers contain a toxic compound - an alkaloid. You should take products based on their juice with caution.

Absolute contraindications are children under 7 years of age, pregnancy, breastfeeding and allergic reactions.

With caution and under strict medical supervision, they can be used for arterial hypertension, cysts and polyps, and allergic rhinitis.

Instructions and dosage

As a rule, cyclamen-based nasal drops are highly concentrated; the instructions contain information on how to dilute them. They can only be used intranasally; insertion into the ears or eyes, or ingestion is prohibited.

The procedure is best done in the morning. You need to lie on your back, inject 2 drops of the product into each nasal passage, and remain in a horizontal position. After 10 minutes, you can drink hot tea with herbs, lemon and honey - this will increase the effectiveness of cleansing.

The secretion of mucus usually begins 15-20 minutes after instillation and lasts from several minutes to an hour and a half. At first, viscous yellow-green mucus comes out, but by the end of the process it is liquid and transparent. Complete release of the sinuses from pus occurs on the 2-3rd day of treatment.

After each procedure, there is a noticeable improvement in well-being: the headache goes away, breathing is restored, performance increases, and body temperature normalizes. The course of therapy depends on the drug used, most often it lasts 7-10 days.

If drops are used to treat a child over 7 years of age, a lower concentration of active substances will be required. So, pure juice of cyclamen tubers for adults is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:10, and for children it should be 1:20.

Before first use, you need to conduct a sensitivity test: apply a small amount of drops to the inside of your wrist and observe the changes during the day.

If the child’s skin turns red, swelling, rash, severe burning or any other reactions appear, then the product cannot be used.

The same test should be carried out for people with sensitive skin and an increased tendency to allergies.

Cyclamen based drops

Drops with cyclamen act very quickly, relieving swelling, inflammation and irritation. After each procedure, the sinuses are cleared and breathing is restored. Drops can be purchased at a pharmacy or made independently. But do not forget that if there is a bacterial infection, you will additionally need to take antibiotics.

  3. Take equal parts vegetable oil and cyclamen juice, mix them and leave for several hours.

All self-prepared drops should be stored in the refrigerator in a closed container for no longer than 7-8 days. The concentration of cyclamen tuber juice can be reduced if a strong burning sensation is felt after a sensitivity test or the first instillation.

Side effects

The use of cyclamen-based drops can provoke the following adverse reactions:

  • swelling of the mucous membranes and face;
  • chemical burn of the mucous membrane;
  • burning sensation in the nose:
  • salivation and lacrimation;
  • headache;

Nasal drops with cyclamen are effective for many diseases. They are most often used for the treatment and prevention of rhinitis and sinusitis (including sinusitis).
