What is streptocide
Streptocide is an antibiotic that has been on the market for many decades. It is preferred to modern drugs in cases where not only effective, but also more gentle action is needed.
The principle of action is to integrate chemical molecules into the cells of harmful bacteria, which disrupts their chemical processes. The microorganism stops reproducing.
Four forms of the drug release allow to meet most of the needs of patients:
- soluble powder;
- in the form of tablets;
- streptocidal ointment gels;
- liniments.
The simplest composition is in powder form. The latter contains nothing except the active substance - sulfonamide.
The peculiarity of the active component of the medicine is that it does not dissolve in cool water - to obtain a solution, the powder is mixed with hot liquid.
Drink it for a sore throat. In addition to sulfonamide in a concentration of up to half a milligram, the tablets contain starch, octadecanoic acid, and talc. The listed additional components are needed to give the tablets their shape.
As for the last two forms of release, components have been added to liniments and ointments to ensure the required consistency. In the first case, stabilizers, emulsifiers and cod oil are added to fifty grams of the active substance.
Liniment is water soluble and can be used externally.
The ointment is also used for application to mucous membranes. In addition to sulfonamide, it contains petroleum jelly. This is enough to obtain a gel-like consistency and soften the effect of the medicine on the mucous membranes.
How to use Streptocide for the face against acne
Streptocide powder can be used quite successfully to combat acne and other inflammatory processes that occur on the face. For this purpose, the described drug can be used as an active component of various therapeutic and prophylactic products, such as masks. - You will need to add one five-gram sachet of Streptocide to the bottle with calendula tincture. This mixture is used as a lotion for the care of problem skin, which should be shaken well before use;

The procedure is performed twice or thrice a day.
The second method is suitable only for adults - sucking it into the nose through a straw. The crushed streptocide is placed on a clean surface or in a large spoon. There are a number of proven medicinal recipes that allow you to get rid of a runny nose with the help of Streptocide.
The most effective procedure is considered to be one that combines rinsing the nose with a soda solution and irrigating the nasopharynx with an antibiotic.
At the first stage, prepare a solution from a teaspoon of soda. Why is the substance diluted in a glass of water? The solution is poured into the palm and, closing one nostril, draw in the other. If this does not work out, then use small teapots to brew, drawing liquid through the spout.
Spit the solution through the mouth, avoiding swallowing if possible. At the end of the first stage of the procedure, they blow their nose, waiting for the complete end of mucus secretion. The wait usually takes up to ten minutes.
At the second stage, the nose and throat are sprayed with streptocide. For pollination, use, as mentioned above, or powder, a thoroughly crushed tablet of the drug.
In the first method of retraction, the powder is poured into a spoon and sucked through the nostril without using a straw.
In the second case, a tube made of paper or plastic is used. Inhale as deeply as possible so that the throat, in addition to the nose, is irrigated.
Depending on the severity of the disease, the procedure is repeated three to six times a day. One crushed tablet is enough for 3 doses. The maximum active treatment is in the first four days. In a simplified form, the entire above procedure is carried out without first rinsing the nasopharynx with a soda solution.
To enhance the effect, use a recipe that involves mixing streptocide powder and chloramphenicol. Use a proportion of 1:0.5. Inhale in the same way as regular streptocide powder, but less often - up to twice a day.
As noted above, the powder is also dissolved in warm water. This solution makes effective nasal drops that help with a persistent runny nose - drop through a pipette. The ready-made powder or one crushed tablet is added to a glass of water and mixed.
A complex medicine is obtained by mixing drugs such as streptocide, penicillin, norsulfazole and ephedrine. The proportion for one and a half grams of antibiotic is: 0.05 grams of ephedrine, 25,000 units of penicillin and an amount of norsulfazole equal to streptocide. Inhale the resulting powder three times a day.
In addition, norsulfazole and penicillin are replaced with benzylpenicillin and sulfathiazole. The proportions are kept as in the previous recipe. This medicine is used only for acute forms of the disease.
In addition to powders for inhalation and solutions, a homemade ointment based on streptocide is also prepared. It is used to lubricate the sinuses in the nose. To obtain it, a gram of powdered substance is added to fish oil or baby moisturizer. It turns out to be a fairly safe and effective remedy for mild rhinitis.
For more severe runny nose, it is not suitable.

Considering the product’s ability to destroy microorganisms on the surface of application, it is not at all surprising that it is used to treat mucous membranes in the oral cavity. This helps eliminate the root cause of inflammation, thereby significantly speeding up recovery.

For angina, treatment involves powerful medication aimed at eliminating the cause of the disease. However, the symptomatic effect is also important, helping to get rid of unpleasant manifestations that cause a lot of discomfort. Streptocide powder is one of the time-tested methods that can be used in several ways. So, the simplest approach for coughs and pain is to apply the product directly to the affected tonsils and leave for as long as possible, then gargle.
The second option is to pour the powder into warm water, mix a little and use the resulting mixture as a rinse. You can repeat the procedure every hour, avoiding swallowing the product. But it is worth considering that the product is contraindicated for ulcerative sore throat. If you supplement the treatment with other prescribed medications, drink plenty of fluids and stay in bed, the disease will soon subside.
Gargling with streptocide powder
The drug is also widely used as a remedy for sore throat. The effect is based on combating the causative agent of the problem and providing an anti-inflammatory effect. Treatment with the drug is carried out in different forms, but the following approach remains the most popular: the powder must be removed from the package and carefully applied to the tonsils. You must try not to swallow saliva for at least 10 minutes for the product to take effect. After this time, you need to spit out the powder as much as possible, and then gargle.
Children over two years old should not use more than 0.2 grams of powder per application; for children over 6 years old, the single dosage is increased to 0.3 grams, and for an adult it should not exceed 0.5 grams. Experts say that if you repeat this manipulation once every couple of hours, the effect will not be long in coming.

Sinusitis is considered one of the most unpleasant diseases. It occurs when the maxillary sinuses become inflamed. It has both acute and chronic forms and takes a long time to cure. They can only get rid of it using complex methods.

Often sinusitis requires longer treatment, but if the nasal passages are lubricated with liniment, it lasts no more than a month. After which a break in the treatment course is necessary.
Contraindications
The advantage of the active substance of the drug is that it is not particularly aggressive, due to which the number of contraindications is fewer than with other antibiotics. If the dosages are observed, practically no adverse reactions are observed.
Not used in the following cases:
- reduced hemoglobin syndrome;
- anemia;
- kidney failure of both types;
- sulfonamide intolerance.
An overdose, when taken orally, primarily leads to sulfonamide poisoning.
