For conscripts diagnosed with sinusitis, the army can become an integral part of life. The fact is that the disease in rare cases exempts you from conscription: in the presence of complications and frequent relapses. Normal inflammation can be cured with medication or surgery, so the military registration and enlistment office does not recognize it as a reason for deferment. However, in exceptional situations with sinusitis, they are not accepted into the army. I’ll tell you which ones in this article.

Will they take you into the army with sinusitis?

When undergoing a medical examination, specialists are guided by a fundamental document - a schedule of illnesses. It specifies a list of categories of conscripts depending on their suitability for service. There is no known name “sinusitis” here, but you can find another ailment - “sinusitis”. This term covers all problems with inflammatory changes in the sinuses.

Only those young people whose medical records indicate polyposis sinusitis or indicate manifestations of chronic/purulent sinusitis with frequent exacerbations can not join the army.

But even in this case, complete liberation is unlikely to be obtained. As a rule, conscripts are given the right to temporary release. The period is 0.5-1 year with the goal of completing treatment and then going to serve.

The medical commission may approve one of the fitness categories:

  • A – the person is absolutely healthy, he has objective opportunities to serve in any type of military;
  • B – there are minor deviations and health problems, but this will not affect the ability to serve;
  • B – military service is currently contraindicated with the need to defer one conscription;
  • D – due to chronic diseases, which are characterized by frequent relapses, the guy is given a referral for treatment with a delay of 0.5-1 year;
  • D – there are serious diseases that threaten the life of the conscript or other persons, and therefore such a young person is not accepted into the army.

If a person is diagnosed with chronic sinusitis, then the army is not contraindicated for him. The guy is given category B and called up for service. But in the acute course of the disease, category B is prescribed with a deferment for the duration of treatment. Group D includes persons who have been diagnosed with chronic sinusitis with exacerbations in a purulent form.

The medical commission also takes into account previous illnesses. If the medical record indicates that the person underwent surgery in the form of a sinus puncture within 3 months. before passing the inspection, he is usually given a temporary deferment.

The conscript receives a referral from the military registration and enlistment office to a medical center for therapy. The methods are chosen by the young man himself on the recommendation of doctors. After the end of the deferment period, a second commission meets to decide on the suitability category. Complete exemption from service is possible only when there are medical documents and reports confirming the presence of serious problems.

Sinusitis and commission

A conscript with sinusitis is admitted into the army with a corresponding note in the medical record. In this case, the employee is placed under separate control in the medical unit. During the service, medical workers monitor the young man’s health and, at the first signs of illness, send him to the hospital for treatment and reduce his overall physical activity. If treatment does not give the necessary results, the question of commission from the army arises.

Contribute to commission:

  • Frequent relapses of sinusitis.
  • Failure of treatment.
  • Development of complications in the functioning of systems and organs.
  • The disease poses a threat to other employees.

In this case, the medical commission makes an o on the employee’s military ID and the young man is assigned category D.

Chronic sinusitis and the army

Many people are interested in the question of whether it is possible to get a deferment in a situation where there are problems with chronic sinusitis. You can hardly count on the leniency of military doctors.

When diagnosing chronic sinusitis with a purulent course and rare relapses, category B-3 is assigned.

This fact only affects the characteristics of the distribution by type of troops. Here it will not be possible to get a temporary reprieve, since this disease is widespread.

Sinusitis and military service

Most likely, if a conscript is diagnosed with chronic sinusitis, he will still have to serve in the army. But upon arrival at the military unit, such a fighter will be taken under observation by professional army doctors. If the conscript's condition worsens, he will be sent to a military hospital, where qualified medical care will be provided. And only when the treatment is ineffective, which happens extremely rarely, will the young man be discharged.

Unfortunately, many conscripts believe that the presence of this disease is their salvation in order to avoid military service. Therefore, they do not specifically try to consult a doctor in a timely manner. As mentioned above, this is fraught with serious complications, so we advise you to carefully weigh the pros and cons.

Every year, the lists of diseases by which the military medical commission determines the fitness of a conscript is updated. This is directly related to the fact that today medicine is developing by leaps and bounds. Effective drugs are emerging, new methods of treatment and surgical intervention are being developed. Therefore, if parents have a son of military age and they want to be aware of such problems as whether or not they are hired for service with sinusitis? They need to regularly review any changes made to an Army document such as the “Schedule of Diseases.”

What does the medical commission look at?

To communicate with military doctors about a possible deferment, the conscript must have a set of expert documentation on hand:

  1. An extract from the medical institution where the young man was treated for nasopharyngeal problems.
  2. An outpatient card, which will contain a full set of results of completed examinations and tests.
  3. Information on the examination of the paranasal sinuses using CT.
  4. Information about the results of a puncture or rhinoscopy.
  5. X-ray and explanations on it from a specialist from a medical institution.

If chronic changes are present, then there must be information about monitoring the conscript over the previous 6 months. The young man is sent for an examination with a test of the sinuses using a pressure chamber to determine the body’s resistance to pressure changes. Preliminary and subsequent radiography is carried out.

Chronic sinusitis army, is there a deferment?

If a conscript has recently suffered from sinusitis, and the doctor performed a puncture (an operation to pump out pus) - in this case, you can forget about serving for a while - but this does not mean that a visit to the military registration and enlistment office is not necessary. If at the moment when you are suffering from sinusitis, a summons arrives, you will have to visit the military registration and enlistment office without an additional call - and the sooner the better.

As a rule, even after recovery, they are not immediately drafted into the army - the conscript is entitled to a deferment of up to six months.

In any case, it should be taken into account that the main decision is made by the medical commission at the military registration and enlistment office - even the presence of all the necessary certificates from the hospital where the young man was treated is not a reason to avoid military service if the medical commission has rendered a “fit” verdict.

When will there be no delay?

Usually, sinusitis and the army are quite compatible phenomena. Patients diagnosed with chronic sinusitis in most cases will not be able to count on a deferment or release from service. Upon arrival at the unit, such young men are placed under special control by military doctors. If there are relapses or other problems, they will be hospitalized in the military medical department.

At the same time, for some young men who have received a summons, it is possible to complete their service early. This happens if during service the treatment carried out by doctors in the hospital does not bring a positive result, relapses become more frequent with a sharp deterioration in health. The military medical commission has the authority to decommission the guy, putting a new category of fitness on the ticket.

It is extremely difficult to obtain an exemption or deferment from the army if diagnosed with sinusitis. This usually happens if a young man has polyps or has purulent sinusitis with frequent exacerbations. After surgery, the conscript has the opportunity to complete the treatment and recovery period, and therefore, he is given a short delay.

In other cases, including those with a chronic illness without frequent relapses, the conscript receives a summons and is sent to a unit to serve. If the health condition worsens, the commission may decide to discharge the serviceman.

Sinusitis and deferment from the army

Of course, every conscript should know that if he has recently suffered from this disease and was prescribed treatment through surgery (puncture), he will be given a deferment. The deferment period is set by a qualified specialist, most often this is the next call. Accordingly, a recent illness must be confirmed by special documents; no one will simply take your word for it.

Most conscripts mistakenly believe that if at the time they receive the summons they are ill and on sick leave with a diagnosis of sinusitis, then a visit to the military registration and enlistment office is not necessary. We hasten to inform you that a young man of military age must undergo a medical examination within the strictly specified time frame (see deferment from the army for studies). This rule has not been canceled.

Deferment from service

As a rule, young people begin to be drafted into the army in the spring and autumn. At this time, there is an increased level of exacerbations of chronic diseases. When treating an acute form of polypous sinusitis, a young man is given a deferment from conscription for 6 months. After this time, the man must undergo a medical examination again.

If, during the chronic form of the disease, a young person experiences purulent discharge from the nasal cavity, the examination will be in accordance with Article No. 49 of the Republic of Belarus. A conscript who has polyps that do not cause any acute symptoms may be fit for service and subject to conscription due to this illness.

It is important that when diagnosing the disease, the doctor can determine the presence of polyps in the nose, while the young man does not have signs of sinusitis. In this case, medical examination will be carried out according to Article 10 of the Schedule of Diseases, as a neoplasm. To confirm a medical opinion and be released from the army, a man must undergo observation by a doctor for at least 3-4 months.

Treatment of sinusitis in the army

Many guys complain that they are being drafted into the army with sinusitis.

. This, indeed, happens if this is a chronic course of the disease, not accompanied by constant exacerbations. But it is necessary to understand that inflammation can worsen and become more complicated at any time. Moreover, if the guy is nevertheless drafted into military service, where there will not be suitable conditions for his health to remain strong and not deteriorate further.

The symptoms of the disease can suddenly worsen, significantly reducing the patient’s quality of life and threatening serious deterioration.

Exacerbation of sinusitis can begin directly during service

A person who goes to the army without being cured will feel not just “out of place,” but very bad:

  • nasal breathing will be impaired (due to a stuffy nose);
  • profuse nasal discharge will begin;
  • Your head and nose will hurt.

There is a high risk of encountering the following complications:

  • negative consequences affecting the respiratory organs (development of inflammation in the tonsils, pharynx and even lungs);
  • damage to other organs, including the meninges, joints, cardiovascular system and kidneys.

The service of a person in such a state will probably be of little use. It is even more dangerous if any complications suddenly begin that can develop (without constant medical supervision) into a dangerous threat to health.

If a soldier suffers from sinusitis, he will not be able to pay enough attention to his service
