Spray Quicks: reviews of the drug

Natalya Podoprigora, Kaliningrad One day I got very sick, my nose was so stuffy that I can’t even describe it. At the pharmacy I was advised to use Quix spray; it is supposedly the most effective and powerful drug and is not addictive with long-term use. Started using it. It’s already the second day of treatment with this spray, and I don’t feel any improvement. In my opinion, this is a completely ineffective remedy. Daria Kalinkina, St. Petersburg Spray Quix, to be honest, I can’t even add it to the list of medications! It does not cause any side effects, but also has no effect on the treatment of the common cold. I sprayed it on my nose almost every hour, and no effect. I just wasted so much money on it, because the price is really very high for ordinary sea water, which, moreover, does not provide any treatment. I had to buy other stronger drops. Varvara Goryunova, Chelyabinsk I bought Spray Quicks first, since Salina, which I usually use, was simply not available in the pharmacy. The price of Kwix, of course, is high. I had a slight runny nose, and Quix spray helped me cure it in just two days. And when my son got sick, I also used this spray; the instructions say that it can also be used for children. It moisturizes the mucous membrane very well and relieves a little swelling, but the child had a strong runny nose, and this drug could not cope on its own, so I had to add a vasoconstrictor to the complex. And Quix was also used to cleanse the nose. A good drug, but ineffective. Elena Pastushkova, Nizhny Novgorod Since there was no Aqua Maris in the pharmacy, I was offered to replace it with Quix spray. Quix is not so nasty, and the child was happy to spray it on his nose, but with a severe runny nose, it is not particularly effective, so I had to use other drops with a stronger effect at the same time. A rather weak drug for such a high price. Victoria Sevostyanova, Yuzhno-Uralsk I used Spray Quicks as prescribed by my therapist for a runny nose. It did a great job with a runny nose, relieved swelling and made breathing easier. My course of treatment lasted three days, although previously I had been unable to cure my runny nose for less than a week. I really liked this drug. Tatyana Ignatenko, Shadrinsk During pregnancy, I caught a cold after being caught in heavy rain. I started to have a runny nose, the doctor advised me to use Quix spray to treat a sore nose, since this drug consists of ocean water and does not contain any chemicals, so pregnant women are allowed to use it. Of course, it doesn't cost a penny, but I can afford it. It is very easy to press and sprays well. It is good for cleaning the nose and makes breathing remarkably and almost immediately easier and copes with the treatment of a runny nose. And now I know exactly what I can use to clean my future baby’s nose. The price is of course high, but its effectiveness is worth it. Valeria Byrko, Gukovo Spray Quicks cleanses the nasal passages well and relieves swelling, but it is useless in treating a runny nose. It is necessary to combine it with a more effective drug, then a good treatment result will be visible. The drug is good, but ineffective. For that kind of money it needs to be improved more.

What is the difference between Quix and Aqua Maris

Aqua Maris is a drug that is produced in Croatia. It consists of natural sea water from the Adriatic Sea, and purified water is used as an auxiliary substance. The manufacturer especially emphasizes the ecological purity of its product and the preservation in it of all the unique trace elements and minerals characteristic of the Adriatic and Mediterranean. The water for the drug is obtained in a nature reserve in the north of Croatia, which is as far away from industrial zones as possible and preserves the natural purity of the sea.

Aqua Maris is produced in the form of a spray or nasal drops. Spray cans can be equipped with various attachments. There are a number of varieties of this drug:

  1. AM Classic is positioned as a prophylactic for ARVI and runny nose. Available in the form of a nasal spray;
  2. AM For children - can be used for newborns. Available in the form of nasal drops;
  3. AM Norm is a remedy for the treatment of runny nose. Available in the form of an aerosol, which allows you to better rinse the nasal cavity and remove mucus;
  4. AM Baby - the same as “Norm”, but equipped with a special nozzle specifically adapted for children;
  5. AM Plus - differs in that dexapanthenol
    . Used to treat dry runny nose. Thanks to this combination, the anti-inflammatory effect of the drug is also enhanced;
  6. AM Oto - for ear care and prevention of ear diseases;
  7. AM Device is a device for rinsing your nose at home.

In addition to the types of this product listed above, there are two more varieties: Aqua Maris Strong and Aqua Maris for the Throat. Unlike its predecessors, which are isotonic

solutions, these forms are
hypertonic
solutions. They are 100% seawater and contain over 0.9% salt, whereas in isotonic solutions its content is 0.9 g per 100 ml of solution. They are produced in the form of a dosed spray and differ in the shape of the nozzle.

Quicksgermansky

Another important difference between AquaMaris and Quicks is the difference in the proportion of sea and simply purified water, as well as the concentration of salt in it. Quicks Classic contains 84.6% sea water versus 31.82% for Aqua Maris

The salt concentration in Quickx is also higher (up to 2.6% versus 0.9% Aqua Marisa), making it a hypertonic solution.

Quix is available as a nasal spray. Each bottle of the drug contains 220 doses. If we talk about the varieties of this drug, then in addition to the classic one, it is produced with additional components and different salt concentrations:

  1. Quix Aloe is a preparation with the addition of aloe vera extract. This combination increases the moisturizing and softening effect of the drug on the mucous membrane. In it, per 100 ml of the drug there are only 28.6 ml of sea water and 50 mg of aloe extract, everything else is ordinary purified water. The result is isotonic
    solution (0.9% salt like Aqua Maris).
  2. Quix Eucalyptus - in this case, in addition to ocean water, the preparation contains eucalyptus oil (0.015 ml/100 ml). This combination is designed to combat nasal congestion and gives the drug a fresh effect. The manufacturer does not specify the proportion of ordinary and sea water in the preparation, but in terms of salt content, this option, like the “Classic” one, is hypertonic
    .

Obviously, if we compare the range of drug release forms, Aqua Maris has more variety, which makes it possible to better take into account all the patient’s characteristics (this is especially true for very young children). This drug is more suitable for those who prefer to use the healing properties of sea water exclusively, without adding other substances (with the exception of Aqua Maris Plus). At the same time, Quix's varieties with the addition of aloe and eucalyptus make it more effective in eliminating unpleasant sensations in the nose.

A clear decision in choosing which is better - Quicks or AquaMaris - will depend on age and individual preferences, because Despite the different salt concentrations, the indications for use for both drugs are identical. Both contain only natural ingredients, so apart from age (for certain forms) there are practically no restrictions on their use.

For children under one year of age, sprays are contraindicated (some pediatricians do not recommend this form under 2 years of age). Drops are used instead.

Quix and AquaMaris are over-the-counter products. In terms of price, both drugs are approximately the same, although the greater variety of release forms in Aqua Maris makes the price range for this drug wider.

Use of Quix in children, lactation and pregnancy

According to the instructions, Quicks spray cannot be used for newborns; it is prescribed to children over 3 months of age. The product does an excellent job of improving nasal breathing in a child, while optimal hydration of the mucous membranes occurs, which helps clear the nasal passages. That is why the drug receives a lot of positive feedback from parents.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the use of the spray is allowed. When using Quix while pregnant, a woman can be calm about her fetus, because the drug is a natural product. Precisely because expectant mothers often face the problem of a stuffy nose, the product can significantly simplify their life in this matter. In reviews from pregnant women you can often read about the effectiveness of using the spray.
